Hawkeye Sports mid-week recap: 2025-2026 conference schedules released and Greer gets the call-up

Hawkeye summer sports have winded down for the season, but fall sports continue preparation for the upcoming season. Here are the top three stories that made headlines for your mid-week Hawkeye Sports recap.

Men's Wrestling learned their 2025-2026 Big Ten schedule

On Monday, the Big Ten released 2025-2026 conference schedules for Men's Wrestling. After finishing the 2024-2025 season with a 14-1 (7-1 Big Ten), the Hawkeyes learned their home and away opponents for next season.

The Hawkeyes host Michigan, Minnesota, Penn State, and Wisconsin at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, and have road dual meets against Michigan State, Nebraska, Ohio State, and Purdue.

The biggest dual meet of the season will take place at Carver-Hawkeye Arena when the Hawkeyes welcome rival Penn State to Iowa City. Last season in Pennsylvania, the Nittany Lions dominated the Hawkeyes 30-8, and went on to win the Big Ten and National Championship titles.

Volleyball completes its 2025 schedule

On May 28, Iowa Volleyball learned its Big Ten conference schedule. The Hawkeyes host Maryland, Minnesota, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State, Rutgers, UCLA, USC, and Wisconsin.

They travel for matches against Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Northwestern, Oregon, Purdue, and Wisconsin.

On Tuesday, the Hawkeyes completed their schedule after adding games to their non-conference schedule.

Some notable non-conference games include a tournament in Coralville, Iowa, at Xtreme Arena, where the Hawkeyes will host Butler, Illinois, and Loyola-Chicago from September 4 to 6, the Cy-Hawk game against Iowa State on September 17 at home in Coralville, and a tournament in Las Vegas from August 29 to 31.

Iowa defender Millie Greer gets the call-up from U.S. Soccer

Iowa defender Millie Greer was invited to participate in a U.S. Soccer camp in Atlanta, Georgia, from June 18 to 22. The camp is the first of its kind and was designed by U.S. Soccer to enhance the talent pool for the under-18, under-19, and under-20 squads.

Greer is among 42 players who were invited to participate in the camp, and is one of 12 defenders.

Greer was an anchor for the Iowa defense last season, playing a team-leading 1,946 minutes. She was also named a Second Team All-Big Ten selection.
